Brandon Marshall, wide receiver for the Chicago Bears who was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, wore neon green shoes during a game on October 10th to commemorate Mental Health Awareness week while the rest of the league was promoting Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Although he was fined by the NFL for $10,500, he vowed to match that amount to donate to charity.

Although October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I think it’s the right thing to do to commemorate Mental Health Awareness Week as well… as mental health is still unfairly surrounded by stigma.
